Features

The Rcom 20 MAX digital incubator is one of Rcom's best selling egg incubators and one of the most advanced incubators available. The Rcom 20 is a fully automatic egg incubator with full digital temperature, humidity and egg turning control. Its simple menu system makes it one of the easiest incubators to use.

Main Features

  • Calibrated digital temperature and humidity display (temp. range 20°C – 42°C)
  • Display of temperature in °C or °F
  • Automatic egg turning with adjustable turning interval
  • Automatic humidity control with built-in Antiblastic humidification unit to discourage bacterial growth (humidity range 30-70%)
  • Outer temperature sensor for automatic adjustment of heating rate in response to the room temperature
  • Optimum air circulation with 5 BLDC fans with an air vent for adjusting air supply
  • Enhanced reliability with Swiss’s Sensirion’s 3rd generation temperature & humidity sensor
  • Water empty indication alarm
  • Abnormal temperature & power failure alarm
  • Has the capacity to fit 20 hen eggs, 52 quail eggs and 10 goose eggs, all based on ‘standard’ sized eggs (the machine is supplied with one universal tray with adjustable dividers)

The Rcom 20 has an in-built water reservoir and pumps humidity automatically to your precise settings. Water is heated inside the machine by an antiblastic humidification method which discourages antibacterial growth. The Rcom 20 also features a low-water alarm to alert the user to low water levels.

Questions & Answers

What’s the different between the Rcom 20 Max and Rcom 20 Pro?

These machines are very similar. Both have digital displays, automatic egg turning, automatic humidity control and hold the same amount of eggs. The difference is that Pro version has been designed for breeding falcons or exotic birds that can be more difficult to hatch and often require very specific settings.

The Rcom 20 Max has a temperature display, humidity display and indication lights for water level, egg turning and heating. You simply set the temperature and humidity levels to match your requirements. The Rcom 20 Pro has a much more specialised program which includes a species selector from which you can select your desired species and the machine will automatically adjust to the recommended settings for that species. The Pro will also count down the days, turn off the egg turning 3 days before hatch and increase the humidity on your selected day.

The main attraction of the Pro is that it offers much more tailored turning options. You can set the machine to turn the eggs from 45° up to 180° at 15° intervals (based on a typical hen-egg size). There is also more flexibility on when the eggs turn; it can be set to turn every 20 minutes to every 3 hours. Whereas, on the Max version, the turning is only able to turn 180° at 1-, 2- or 3-hour intervals.

What’s the difference between the Brinsea Ovation 28 Eco and Rcom 20 models?

The first difference between the Ovation 28 Eco and the Rcom 20 Max and Pro is the egg capacity. The Ovation 28 holds more eggs; up to 28 hen-sized eggs or equivalent. The Rcom 20 Max and Pro models can hold up to 20 hen-sized eggs, or equivalent.

The other difference is the that both the Rcom 20 Max and Pro have a humidity display and automatic humidity control, whereas the Ovation 28 Eco does not. Finally, the Rcom 20 Pro has a ‘species selector’ feature and specific settings for egg-turning; both of which are unavailable on the Ovation 28 Eco.

What’s the difference between the Brinsea Ovation 28 Advance and Rcom 20 models?

The first difference between the Ovation 28 Advance and the Rcom 20 Max and Pro is the egg capacity. The Ovation 28 holds more eggs; up to 28 hen-sized eggs or equivalent. The Rcom 20 Max and Pro models can hold up to 20 hen-sized eggs, or equivalent.

The other difference is the that both the Rcom 20 Max and Pro have a humidity display and automatic humidity control, whereas the Ovation 28 advance has a humidity display, but the humidity must be controlled manually. Finally, the Rcom 20 Pro has a ‘species selector’ feature and specific settings for egg-turning; both of which are unavailable on the Ovation 28 Advance.

What’s the difference between the Brinsea Ovation 28 EX and Rcom 20 models?

The first difference between the Ovation 28 EX and the Rcom 20 Max and Pro is the egg capacity. The Ovation 28 holds more eggs; up to 28 hen-sized eggs or equivalent. The Rcom 20 Max and Pro models can hold up to 20 hen-sized eggs, or equivalent.

The Ovation 28 EX, the Rcom 20 Max and the Rcom 20 Pro all have a humidity display and automatic humidity control. But, the type of control is different as the Ovation uses a pumping system whereas the Rcom 20 Max and Pro both use a heated water humidification unit instead, giving them more precise control.

Finally, the Rcom 20 Pro has a ‘species selector’ feature and specific settings for egg-turning; both of which are unavailable on the Ovation 28 EX.

What is the difference between the Rcom 20 DO – Max incubator and the Rcom 20 Max incubator?

These machines are very similar. Both have digital displays, automatic egg turning, automatic humidity control and hold the same number of eggs. The Rcom 20 Max has a temperature display, humidity display and indication lights for water level, egg turning and heating: Simply set the temperature and humidity levels to match your requirements. This is the same for the Rcom 20 DO – Max.

However, the main attraction of the Rcom 20 DO – Max is that it's operated by using a jog-dial and membrane buttons, rather than just membrane buttons like on the Rcom 20 Max. This allows you to select and change all options with ease.

The jog dial also features an LED ambient light display, which indicates by colour the current stage of incubation, as well as the machine’s current status.
The last difference is that the Rcom 20 DO - Max comes with a built-in, fully integrated egg candler; this means that there is no need for a separate battery-powered candler.

Customer Reviews

Kerryanne
Fantastic incubator. We put eleven eggs in the incubator and ten hatched first time. The instructions are easy to follow, the machine does exactly what it says on the tin! As long as you top it up with water the incubator does the rest. The people at the incubator shop were extremely helpful. We would definitely recommend this product to others.
Gareth Roberts
Excellent service considering the circumstances Just topped with distilled water, filled with eggs and away on factory settings. Started years ago with curfew, turn-x, Rolex, most Brinsea’s and even polystyrene ones. These are the most straightforward incubators anyone can buy
sion
Great little machine to run the odd egg wet when losing too much weight. Next day delivery too
Tony Martin
I've just bought another Rcom 20 Max to add to one I've had for 3 years, and which is continuing to work faultlessly. Reliable, easy to clean, good controls. What's not to like?
Jess
Updated incubator just as easy to use and consistent as my previous Rcom which I have used for the last 5+ years. Great advice from the Incubator Shop - listening carefully to my situation and offering straight forward practical advice.

A fantastic incubator supported by a brilliant company. The incubator is straightforward to use and operate. I managed to fit 10 duck eggs on my first venture. The company has been amazing in quickly responding to my questions and queries. There is nowhere better to buy your next incubator.

Best R com machine to buy great results all the time
Erica Stevenson
We had an economic incubator a few years ago but it was misplaced on a house move. But as we decided we would get back into chicken breeding again the rcom 20 was the obvious choice for us . It's an excellent user friendly piece of kit and with a hatch rate of 14 from 18 fertile eggs it's proved itself on its maiden use .
Raf
Brilliant nice and great service
Paul B
This is a brilliant incubator - easy to setup, good instructions, worked like a treat. It really does do everything for you - you just have to keep the water topped up. Easy. Just completed the first hatch with it - everything on-time and 100% rate. Also have to say the service from The Incubator Shop was nothing short of amazing. Quick delivery, with some nice extra goodies in the box too. Recommend the Rcom 20 Max and The Incubator Shop most highly!

best incubator, easy to use.fantastic company, would of liked to speak to a real person, but due to restrictions, delivery excellent
Dave
I have used an RCOM kingsuro 20 for the last few years. I really regard the RCOM as being among the best incubators as I have always had excellent hatch results, This incubator is very easy to set up, use and check the eggs during incubation, as it has a clear glass lid to lift (as opposed to the king suro which has the fan and electronics in the top to lift which is connected to the water pump). There is an internal reservoir on this model which makes it easy to operate, however I found that the water in it when full up only lasts about 5 days (So you can’t go away and leave the incubator unattended for a week...as opposed o the king suro which you can connect to any size bottle). This incubator has given me excellent hatch results, for both chickens and ducks. The only other negative is that the floor of the incubator is in my view a little too slippy for the chicks once they hatch. I found a few had a little splay leg and needed splints to pull their legs back in and rectify the problem. This didn’t happen when I put a little anti slip mat on the floor for the last 3 days of the hatch (once I stopped the floor rotating the eggs). A minor adjustment needed, but I believe an important one. Overall I would definitely recommend this incubator.
maria
Great little incubator except the floor that the chicks hatch onto is far too slippery leading to chicks with splayed legs. I solved this by putting a single layer of kitchen towel on the base so they have some grip. And it won't maintain its temperature outdoors unless the weather is warm. I was hoping to run this incubator in an outhouse but it needs to be in a warm environment to hold its temperature. But still a great little incubator overall we are very happy with it. The children love the fat they can see the chicks hatching and auto turning and humidity makes life very easy.
