The ChickenGuard© Extreme is the most robust and well-engineered automatic coop door opener available. Beneath the rugged casing is an advanced motor with a huge 4kg load capacity, powered by state-of-the art, military grade electronics. This unit is designed with the harshest environments in mind, from the snow-covered mountains of Scotland to the hot summers of the southern isles.
All the electronics are enclosed in a weather proof casing and FULLY encapsulated in epoxy resin allowing the Extreme to withstand the elements. The Extreme unit is very easy to install with no complicated wiring required. Just attach the ChickenGuard© to your coop, connect the door to the cord and it’s ready to go (see video).
The ChickenGuard© Extreme has some other fantastic features too. Manual controls let you open and close the door with the push of a button. A ‘fail-safe’ option combines the light sensor with a timer to ensure the door closes, even if there’s still some light. The light sensitivity is also fully adjustable for complete control. The British made high grade electronics are fully enclosed in a weatherproof casing. The unit uses 4 x AA batteries so is totally self contained with no running wires or cables. |Have only used this on the timed mode and it’s been great. I had one issue where the cord was winding around outside the spools but think I let it go slack during set up, but has been good since re setting. Have been very happy with this unit and would highly recommend.|
|I've only had this a few days, but found it very easy to fit. One suggestion though - I armed myself with the paper instructions and the You Tube video (having had other door openers in the past) but actually found the easiest way was just to press the buttons when it offered me Auto Set Up Wizard on the digital display. I'm no tech expert (67 and pretty useless my sons say!) but actually I managed it quite easily without all the various instructions, just by trial and error. I found the You tube video useful at first, maybe try the set up wizard first for the programming....?|
