As a celebration of Brinsea’s 40th anniversary, they have designed a new range of incubators which includes the Maxi II Advance Automatic 14 Egg Incubator. This incubator automatically turns the eggs and is fully digital meaning that the user can set the incubator up and simply walk away safe in the knowledge that their eggs are in the best environment.
One of the best points of this incubator is that it has a countdown to hatch day feature. When the user sets the days that their eggs will take to hatch, the incubator automatically turns the eggs until 3 days before they are due to hatch. Once this date is reached, the incubator automatically stops the egg turning.
This incubator comes with a 14 egg disk that can fit chicken eggs and duck eggs on it. It can also hold 28 quail or pheasant eggs. This disk is automatically turned by the incubator. The user can adjust the turning settings via the digital display and you can change the time between the turns and how long each turn lasts for, this is useful if you have either large or small eggs in the incubator.
Controllable through the digital display, the temperature is extremely accurate to 0.1 of a degree and can be adjusted by 0.1 of a degree too. The incubator comes factory set at 37.5 degrees which is the correct temperature for poultry. As this incubator is fan assisted, the air is blown around the incubator eliminating cold spots whilst maintaining a nice even temperature throughout the incubation period.
To change the humidity, you simply add water to the external water trough and this will increase the levels inside the incubator.
Another of the main features of this incubator is that it has Brinsea’s unique cooling feature. This feature allows the user to periodically cool the eggs for a certain amount of time per day. This is to mimic the natural nest as a sitting hen will get off the eggs to eat and have a drink. This feature should only be used from day 7 until the day the eggs no longer need turning.
The plastics that this incubator are made from contain Biomaster’s Antimicrobial solution. The advantage of this is that bacteria cannot form on the plastics as they are killed on impact, this therefore increases the hatchability of your eggs as they are incubating in a clean environment.
A full range of alarms warns the the user when the incubator temperature is either too high or too low but also when the external temperature within the room is either too hot or too cold for optimum incubation conditions.
You can also purchase a separate egg tray which has a higher capacity for smaller eggs and can hold 40 quail or pheasant eggs.
It also comes with a 3 year warranty which requires you to register the product on Brinsea’s website
